>> You, Yourself, and Headaches
The
way I see it there are only two types of headaches.
The one that you know you have earned and then there's
the "Why Me?". I am going to share some thoughts
about the why me type.
I
have been in family practice as a Doctor of Chiropractic
throughout this past decade and have spent considerable
time with this type of patient. They show up with a
history of headaches that span a decent chunk of time.
They have tried many types of care and have had periods
of success in managing them. Their families know the
drill when one is coming on, and are very caring and
supportive with the time.
Believe
it or not Chiropractors have drawn some conclusions
and they have developed some corrective techniques.
These corrective techniques are applied to the spinal
column in different styles, you have heard the tales
of chiropractic, and they are all attempting to balance
the posture and function of the patients' spine. With
headache type patients, the relationship between the
head and neck appear to be the source of disturbance.
Medications will alter the symptoms, but we pose an
argument based in altered biomechanics that produce
swelling that will irritate nerve tissue. You can cool
off the tissue with chemistry, but what about the altered
function? The ability and capacity of your neck as a
mobile support for your head is constantly under a demanding
siege keeping up with the challenges of your lifestyle.
Do you remember a time in your life when it was easier
to look over your shoulder or up at the stars?
Your
body is witness, judge and jury to your every move.
Investigate what's out there and act on it, help yourself
and others and sincerely give your body a better chance
at supporting your style of life.
